In December 1984, a new model generation appeared in the mid-size model series which was to succeed the 123 model series. Technically, the passenger cars were closely modelled on the compact Class in order to achieve a significant reduction in fuel consumption through aerodynamic optimisation and the use of weight-reducing materials. Back in 1989, a completely revised model range was presented at the IAA - the world's largest international motor show in Frankfurt am Main in Germany - which brought with it some changes: along with the side rub strips, the exterior mirror housings painted in the vehicle's colour and the improved seats also represented an innovation.
It was not for nothing that the W124 model series was also popular as a law enforcement vehicle for the police. The 230 E Saloon W 124 miniature turbo model is also following in these footsteps. Thus, the precision model, which is hand-assembled from more than 126 individual parts, not only features a faithful copy of all the interior details, it also has the "POLIZEI" lettering on the driver and front passenger sides on a white/green body. Six parts (doors, bonnet and tailgate) can also be opened on the model on a scale of 1:18. It is delivered in a Mercedes-Benz Classic designer packaging. A screwdriver and a glove are included to help detach the Saloon from the packaging and to prevent any fingerprints from being left on the glazing or the painted body when it is removed.
